Temporary Support Worker – 32 Hours

We are looking for Support Workers to join a rehabilitation team providing high quality intermediate care to adults in need of rehabilitation, reablement, convalescence before returning home.

Our client is an award winning, Council owned trading company providing services to vulnerable people and children across the City of Sunderland and Northeast.

As part of the team, you will work closely with the Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and other visiting health and social care professionals. You will support customers who have experienced illness or trauma and are often leaving hospital, supporting them to achieve their goals by working with the person to ensure their individual needs are met so that they are able to access their personal therapy plan.

You do not need to have any specific care experience; they will provide you with the relevant training and mentoring to enable you to thrive.

Tasks are varied and range from supporting customers with their meals, dressing and personal care, management of medication, mobility and cognitive stimulation. Key to the success of the service is engaging with the person in a way that that enables them to achieve the outcomes that mean they can continue to live their life, their way.

(need to be available to work 32 hours only) – 7am until 10pm on a rota basis, to include weekends and bank holidays.

£12.65 per hour (rising to £13.05 following the implementation of the pay award)

All CV’s should be supported by two satisfactory references and evidence of right to work in the UK.

A range of questions will be asked to ascertain the candidate’s previous experience, skills and knowledge.

An enhanced DBS check with adults barred list completed within the last 12 months is required for the role, evidence will be requested following a successful offer. Where a candidate does not have the relevant check they will be withdrawn.
