Directorial role secured to drive Middlesbrough’s The Robin Centre forward

After more than a decade as an unmistakable face here at Tribe, Key Accounts Director Leandra Smith now has a new challenge ahead of her at The Robin Centre. And no, this doesn’t mean that she’s leaving us any time soon. (Phew!). But as the new Business Development Director at The Robin Centre, Leandra is now tasked with driving the success of the centre forward – as she’s been doing at Tribe since 2009.

Yes, Leandra was in fact the very first employee here at Tribe Recruitment. Bringing with her an entire decade’s worth of experience even then, she soon progressed into a directorial role in 2012, and has been here, engaged with developing new business sectors within Tribe, ever since. (So basically, she’s not allowed to leave even if she wanted to!).

A little bit about The Robin Centre – based in Middlesbrough, ‘TRC’ is a place where adults with a range of different abilities come to learn, enjoy, and develop essential life skills. Like every other business in the country, over the last few months TRC has faced the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic – but met it head on.

Centre Manager, Victoria Hubery, made crucial changes to the layout of the centre, which is based on Ormesby Road, and had it ready to be opened ahead of schedule in early-September. This made TRC the first such adult day centre in the town to reopen, following the spring-summer lockdown, and visitors have been enjoying the facilities again ever since.

On the bright future ahead for TRC and everyone associated with the centre, Victoria said: “I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Leandra on her new position as Business Development Manager at The Robin Centre. I wish her lots of success in her new role. With skills like Leandra’s she will not need luck – but good luck anyway! Together, we will be the driving force behind the company and succeed in helping The Robin Centre to reach its true potential, becoming one of, if not the most successful and popular day centre in the Middlesbrough area.”
