Over the summer of 2020, Tribe welcomed the enigma that is Matthew Regan into the team. Already a specialist recruiter in driving and engineering roles in the North East, he brought with him an extensive network of industry links – along with his passion for finding people work.

Immediately boosting the scope of our Transport & Logistics division in the region Matthew quickly secured a number of leading clients within the Tees Valley – and he hasn’t slowed down since. Always looking for new drivers and clients alike, he is both adept and proactive in creating opportunities for both parties – constantly speaking to people at both ends.

And essentially, communication is key to everything he does. From agreeing working hours, to taking care of paperwork, to checking in with his drivers to see what they need from him, his dedication to people is what makes his work tick. Always at the forefront of what’s happening in North East transport, he took the additional supply chain challenges of 2020 in his stride – and has hit the ground running in 2021.

Overcoming uncertainty and adversity

Having been through the experience of losing a job himself due to COVID-19, Matthew understands the difficulties and uncertainties faced by professional drivers in the United Kingdom at this time:

“I communicate with drivers and clients in the industry every day, and the outlook, however challenging, remains bright. There is still plenty of work for drivers, as logistics companies react to demand and aim to make up for lost time last year.”
